YouTube Video Link Guide

Learn how to submit a YouTube page URL, review the parsing result, and understand separate video and audio streams. Results depend on video availability, regional restrictions, and the upstream parsing service.

Parse a YouTube video

Copy the URL from a video page you are authorized to access, such as youtube.com/watch?v=... or youtu.be/.... Submit the page URL, not an expired googlevideo media URL.

Paste the URL on the home page and select Parse. When available, the result includes the title, thumbnail from preview_url, and video or audio resources returned by the parsing service.

Video quality and audio

Some high-quality video streams contain picture only, with audio provided as a separate stream. A video opened or saved directly in a browser may therefore have no sound.

For audio and video together, choose a resource that includes both, or use a client capable of merging streams when you are authorized to do so. The website displays upstream links and does not merge streams in the browser.

Missing thumbnails or unavailable links

Thumbnails load from the upstream preview_url. The image may not appear if its host blocks cross-site requests, the temporary URL has expired, or the image server is unreachable.

Media URLs may expire. Submit the original YouTube page again to obtain fresh links. Private, deleted, age-restricted, or region-restricted videos may not be available.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the thumbnail missing?

A thumbnail is shown only when the upstream service returns a usable preview_url. An expired URL or an unreachable image host can also prevent it from loading.

Why does a high-quality download have no sound?

Some video qualities are provided separately from audio. Check for a separate audio resource or choose a complete audio-and-video file; this site does not merge streams.

What should I do when a link expires?

Submit the original YouTube page URL again. Media links can be temporary, so avoid treating them as permanent URLs.
